Thumbs down: Piggy-backing

I’m all for freedom of speech, and I’m not a fan of being overtaxed either.
So there’s nothing wrong with the “Stop Higher Taxes” pig making an appearance at last week’s Sanford Christmas Parade. In fact, the pig would have made a colorful Christmas float with a nice wreath around its neck or apple in its mouth.
But instead of joining the other floats, the pig stayed at the corner of Horner and Wicker. There for everybody to see, without having to pay the parade entry fee. It’s the equivalent of making your own giant cartoon balloon and just hanging out in Central Park with it instead of joining the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
If you want to make a statement in the next parade, join the parade.
You’ll get your message out and who knows … you may actually have a good time.

  1. I applaud the “No Higher Taxes” pig for his efforts to support smaller government. I would like to see this pig nominated to run for Pres. on the Republican ticket in 2012. I already find the pig more interesting and trustworthy than John McCain, and more prepared than Sarah Palin. Hey, you know what I just realized: if you put lipstick on that sucker, he’d look kinda like… oh wait, never mind.
