Here’s what we know so far:

Woman shoots ex-husband, kills herself at Carolina Trace

A woman shot her ex-husband and turned the gun on herself Monday night at their home in Carolina Trace.
Deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call at 328 Harbor Trace just after 9 p.m., according to a report released by the Lee County Sheriff’s Department. Steven Thomas, 41, was in his front yard with a gunshot wound to his abdomen, according to the report.
Thomas told deputies he was shot by his ex-wife, Cynthia Holt Thomas, also 41. While talking to Thomas on his lawn, a gunshot was heard inside the home. When deputies rushed inside, they found Cynthia Thomas dead, lying near a .357-caliber pistol.
Steven Thomas was rushed to Duke Medical Center, where he is currently in stable condition.
