New obsession: Cherry M&Ms

If you’ve read this blog lately, you already know I will search high and low for anything new in the candy or soft drink world … especially if it involves cherry and chocolate flavoring.

Well, M&Ms have gone and done it, creating Wildly Cherry M&Ms, which I can only describe as excellent. Basically, they wrapped an M&M with a cherry-flavored outercoating … one that’s thicker than your typical hard candy shell. I’m sure they still don’t melt in your hand, but I doubt they’ll melt in your mouth either … the shell’s that thick.

But unlike Cherry Chocolate Diet Dr Pepper, which I only found a tad disappointing, these cherry M&Ms are the real deal. I found them at the BP station at the corner of Horner and Carthage streets, and I only looked for them because I needed a Coke that night and they had a $3 minimum if you wanted to use your credit or debit card (what is this, 1998?).

So, I highly recommend them, and if you are interested, you should probably hurry. It makes it clear on the packaging these are only limited edition, just like the Shamrock Shake, the McRib, the steak and tots burrito at Sonic and just about all of earth’s pleasures.
