Awards Ceremony

The Web site for the North Carolina Press Association has begun posting photos from the Feb. 28 awards ceremony, where we received six individual awards and a second place in General Excellence for our circulation division (out of about 25 newspapers).
We think they’re going to post the GE award presentation later (they’re posting photos each day so far), and I’ll put that on my site, too, because I can promise you … we look MUCH happier in that photo.

A few comments about this photo though: My paleness can be contributed to the flu. I almost left early that night because it was my first day having the bug … which lasted four days after this. I’ve also noticed Jonathan Owens is grinning mightily (or scared to death) in this shot.
Pictured are the awards guy, me, Neil Morris (our movie critic), Jamie Stamm, Jon Owens, Brooke Wolfe and R.V. Hight. I want to add that Kevin Degon, Gordon Anderson, Chelsea Kellner, Alex Podlogar, Randy Quis and Kim Edwards (who make up the rest of our newsroom), each should have been there as well … but we can only reserve so many seats.
