Big Miles!
January 9, 2008
Say hello to the newest addition to our family — Miles.
My wife Jennifer and I adopted Miles Tuesday from Carolina Animal Rescue and Adoption in Sanford. He’s a 3-month-old bernese/lab mix, with more burnese than lab as far as we can tell. He’s already bigger than our 6-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, Honey.
So far, they get along OK, with the occasional nip from Honey when Miles gets too close to her food. They like to tug-of-war and wrestle. So far, so good.
I’m sure I’ll post more pictures of my dogs in the near future.
To see Miles’ brothers and sisters also up for adoption (and to see several other great dogs and cats who need good homes), go to CARA’s Website, www.cara-nc.org.

What a cutie. Or can you say that about a male dog?
I know Jennifer was very excited about him the other night on her walk with Honey. I am sure they will get along fine as Honey tolerates all the kids on her walks. Can’t wait to see you two walking Miles around the neighborhood..Enjoy it as it seems he will get very big and might be walking you around the neighborhood in the near future.

We had the pleasure of meeting Miles via WebCam last night, what a boy he is.
I’m going to tell you something Miles, you have, without a doubt the greatest parents in the world.
They will give you nothing short of the BEST.
Welcome to the family Miles, I know you will make us a great Grandson-dog.
Take care of Honey, she is SPECIAL to us.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your kind words for CARA. I am a volunteer for CARA and feel very strongly about saving all of these poor animals. Hopefully, with more publicity, CARA can decrease the number of animals that Animal Control has to put down through and rescue and education. Thank you again!

I appreciate the pictures and the story, Sir. And that you are giving him an obviously perfect new home.
I was wondering if you could send me about two or three more pictures of Miles aka Zeb and if I have your permission to post them on the CARA Noseworthy News/Happy Tails page.
All of us fall in love with them, when they arrive at the shelter and we love hearing news from them. That’s why I started posting them on the web so our Volunteers can update on their beloved Charges.
Thank you for adopting this little guy. I know I loved meeting him.

Oh - WOW — what a great addition to the family! He’ll be bull dozing Honey in no time! ha-ha She’ll enjoy having the playmate!
And, kudos for choosing CARA to seek out your new baby! Dogs rescued from bad situations or adopted from places like CARA make the best and most grateful pets! All my girls were rescues and I wouldn’t have it any other way — you won’t be sorry!!!
Best wishes for a lifetime of joy with your precious little boy!

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!! I too volunteer at CARA and we love to hear happily ever after stories about all of our “kids” that are fortunate enough to find their forever home! You got a real winner and we all fell in love with him at first sight! Take good care of one another! From the looks of it…..he couldn’t have wished for a better home or better parents!
